My First Time Snowboarding

So... yeah, I am pretty much as sore I have ever been, especially my buttocks. I spent this first day of snowboarding trying to figure out how to crash without dying... yeah, well, that was my intent anyway. Honestly, I feel that I was very much successful in this, considering how often I fell... I've got that part down. The strange thing is that I seem to have an affinity for snowboarding directly towards others instead of into the open spaces. Don't know why I am so good at it but it comes extremely naturally.

I am rather proud of myself though, I started out the day by skipping over the beginner's bunny slopes altogether and began on the intermediate slopes. Unfortunately it took me a while to get decent, like the entire day. This wasn't too big a deal except that all the people I had gone with were really good. Nonetheless I had a lot of fun since I don't mind falling. At least, I didn't mind until my butt had been bruised from the previous 100 falls. As you can see in this movie I had a hard time even getting off my butt once I got started.

This is Erin, my friend from Carolina whom Khenton and I met up with... unfortunately Khenton had the camera so I wouldn't destroy it and we didn't get a picture of him. It was a beautiful day there, like 50 degrees... and the snow was apparently pretty good. I honestly don't know what good snow is like but the stuff we had was sufficient. It was also just good to be back in Boone, Khenton and I went out to eat with Erin and a few of her friends afterwards at my favorite restaurant in Boone called Cafe Portofino. Though I fell more than I have in as long as I can remember I had a wonderful day with a couple of great friends in my favorite mountains.
