Where I live

So, I have been really blessed to live in some amazing places... and thought it would be good to document these places here on my little blog. I figured it would be good to start with my current home, actually in many ways it will remain my home for a long time even when I have another home. The place is Camp Lurecrest... a christian camping facility in the foothill mountains of wesetern North Carolina, in the small town of Lake Lure. This is a view from our chapel, during the summer the sun sets right over the middle of those mountains. I wish everyone could see the way the sky lights up as the voices of 200 youth praise Jesus for the mercy He has given them.

This is the upper field here at Lurecrest, as you drive up the drive way this view is the first thing people see upon arriving here.

This is our lakefront area, complete with 15 foot lake swing, 180 foot waterslide, a sweet new pontoon boat and a blob... which had been removed at the time of this picture.. it would be over to the right side where the 21 foot tower there is. This is my home during the summer as I am the Lakefront Director here at Lurecrest. I spend every day here from 10am - 5pm with a lunch break for the eight weeks that we have campers here during the summer and then during the fall and summer I also am here a lot to facilitate retreats. I bought a hammock last spring and set it up right there between some trees and just chill. It has become one of my favorite places to take naps, play my guitar, and read.

I wish I had more pictures to show you, I do, but unfortunately they don't do this place justice, perhaps I will give some more later. This is the winter sky here at Lurecrest... the sun and clouds over the mountains here still take my breath away... I hope that it never changes.
