My First Taste of Glacier National Park

Sunday was the first time I finally got up to Glacier National Park. These pictures unfortunately just do not do just to how overwhelmingly beautiful the mountains and forests were. The water was crystal clear, the trees and plants were just so beautiful, and the mountains were jagged and coated with a fresh layer of snow. I only got a small taste of what was up her and I cannot wait to get back for more.

Thursday evenings at the base are extra special as all of the schools come together and we essentially have a corporate time of worship. This Thursday was the first of the school year and I was especially blessed as the leaders took some time out and asked everyone to write a psalm. I had never done this before but God had been putting some things on my heart through the book of Titus that we just finished and Ephesians which we are currently on. The psalm I wrote is here underneath the next picture... it's just what has been on my heart and I thought I would share it.

Psalm 9 / 27 / 07 Psalm 9 / 27 / 07

Psalm written 9 / 27 / 07

Thank you for saving me,

A thousand times I say…

Thank you for saving me,

In the midst of my cluttered mind,

Thank you, Jesus

I often don’t know what to do

Thank you for saving me

Other words just cannot express

Thank you, Thank you

I find peace, I find mercy,

Thank you for saving me

Where else would I go, What else could I say?

Thank you for saving me

Here I stand again, Wanting so badly to say

Thank you,… My King

I am speechless at the thought of your mercy

Utterly lost as my heart beats only to your grace

Let it never be any other way

Please give me but this one thing

To be captured by you, my king, my savior, my lord, my hope, my joy, my desire, my abba, my rest

I want you, nothing more and nothing less than you, Jesus…

Every moment of every day… you, Jesus

These are the folks that went with me up to Glacier that day... all told we checked out the visitor center and then went on a little hike that took us up to the smaller lake in the mountains from the previous pictures, Avalanche Lake. That was about a 2 mile hike that we turned into a all day affair as we hiked around the lake and up to some waterfalls. This is Lake McDonald, the doorway to the park from the West Glacier entrance. Everywhere in the park was beautiful as the leaves are beginning to turn and the snow is beginning to highlight the mountain tops, I can't wait to see what else I can find in this magnificent place.
