Gratitude
February 22, 2008Thank you. Thank you for saving me. I once was blind but now I see... I once was lost but now I am found. I once was not yours but now I am... thank you. I once was lost without hope... now I have mercy in you Jesus. Thank you Holy Spirit for showing me my dear sweet savior Jesus. Thank you Father that you see me as your son... through the life giving blood of Jesus. Thank you Jesus for shedding your blood in my place, for dying the death I deserved and for giving me the life of righteousness... eternal life... that you had merited. Thank you that you are interceding for me right now at the Father's right hand. Thank you Holy Spirit for breaking my heart to see what the Father's heart breaks over... for dwelling in me that I would be transformed and sanctified into holiness. Thank you Holy Spirit for restoring right relationship with me and the Father as you open my eyes up to the truth - to Jesus. Thank you Jesus for saving me. Thank you Father that you are faithful and steadfast in your love and mercy to help me see and live in reality. I want what you offer... thank you that what you have for me is what truly is best.
Thank you for your patience and mercy with me and all of my lacking; my impatience... doubts... fears... wrestling... stubbornness... and pride. Thank you that you wrestle with me and reveal that you are enjoying our relationship. Thank you that you are alive and present in my life though I fail to recognize you as often as I should. Thank you that you are REALITY... and that the reality of your love and presence in my life as your son... the TRUTH... is not contingent upon me.
Thank you for being my God.

(This was something I learned from the book of Numbers as we were at a retreat in the mountains this weekend... the problem the Israelites ran into was that they were ungrateful... they failed to realize how blessed they had been by God)
